Authorship
The International Journal of Science Education and Cultural Studies, published by Sultan Publisher, is committed to ensuring that authorship accurately reflects the contributions of individuals involved in research and manuscript preparation.
1. Criteria for Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research. These contributions may include:
- Conception or design of the research, methodology, or analytical approach.
- Data collection, analysis, or interpretation of research findings.
- Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
- Reviewing and approving the final version of the manuscript before submission.
- Accepting responsibility for their contributions and cooperating in resolving questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of the work.
Individuals who provide only administrative assistance, general supervision, or funding without making substantial scholarly contributions should not automatically be listed as authors.
2. Author Approval and Responsibility
All listed authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission to International Journal of Science Education and Cultural Studies. Each author is responsible for their own contributions and must cooperate in addressing questions concerning the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of the research.
3. Corresponding Author
The corresponding author serves as the primary contact with the International Journal of Science Education and Cultural Studies editorial office throughout submission, peer review, revision, and publication. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have approved the manuscript, agreed to the author list and order, and provided accurate submission information.
4. Author Contributions
Authors should accurately describe their individual contributions when requested by the journal. Individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet the authorship criteria may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section, with their permission.
5. Changes in Authorship
Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after manuscript submission must include a clear justification and written agreement from all affected authors. The editorial office may request confirmation from all authors before considering the change. Changes to authorship after publication will be assessed in accordance with the circumstances and applicable publication ethics principles.
6. Guest, Gift, and Ghost Authorship
Gift or guest authorship, in which an individual is listed without making a qualifying contribution, is not acceptable. Ghost authorship, in which an individual who made a qualifying contribution is omitted without appropriate justification, is also unacceptable. The author list must fairly represent the individuals who made substantial scholarly contributions.
7. Artificial Intelligence and Authorship
Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of scholarly work. Authors remain responsible for all content submitted to International Journal of Science Education and Cultural Studies, including content prepared with AI assistance. The use of AI tools must be disclosed when required by the journal's applicable policies or submission requirements. AI-generated references, data, images, and claims must be checked by the authors before submission.
8. Authorship Disputes
Any dispute or concern regarding authorship should be reported to the International Journal of Science Education and Cultural Studies editorial office. The journal may request explanations or supporting documentation from the authors and take appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics policies. Where necessary, the journal may refer the matter to the authors' affiliated institutions or other relevant organizations.
9. Author Confirmation
By submitting a manuscript to International Journal of Science Education and Cultural Studies, the corresponding author confirms that the authorship information is accurate, all listed authors have approved the manuscript and its submission, and no eligible contributor has been improperly excluded.
